Zirconia, or zirconium dioxide, is one of the advanced ceramic materials in fine ceramic industry, and promising mechanical and thermal properties which have been defined for specific applications. The characteristics of zirconia’s properties are dependent upon which of the three distinct crystallographic phases the material exists.

Zirconium Oxychloride, ZrOCl8H2O

Zirconium Oxychloride is a very important precursor for preparation of many other zirconium compounds and are generally soluble in water. The resulting product contains moderate concentrations of hydrogen ions and have pH’s of less than 7.0. 


Main material for other zirconic products. White or slightly yellow needle. Acid compound. Stabilizes in water, methanol, ethanol and ether, slightly stabilizes in acid and hydrofluoric acid. Does not stabilize in other organic solvent.

Zirconium Dioxide, ZrO2

 Zirconium Dioxide can be extensively used for a variety of applications such as at high temperatures, thermal corrosion, resisted chemical, and electrical insulant etc.. For its monoclinic phase, it can be used as an additive, significantly enhancing the properties of refractory materials.


Nonpoisonous tasteless solid. There’re kinds of crystal phase, the monoclinic, the tetragonal and the cubic. Stabilizes in alkali and acid solutions (except hot concentrated H2SO4 , HF and H3PO4 ).

Fused Zirconia

Fused zirconium oxide produced by the fusion of zircon sand leading to the dissociation of zirconium oxide and silica at high temperature. They are widely used in areas of high-end refractory materials, ceramic pigments, abrasive materials, glass, advanced ceramics, nuclear-grade Zirconia and other fields.

Y2O3 Partially Stabilized Zirconia (PSZ)

2 to 3 mol% yttrium oxide (Y2O3) as a stabilizing agent within partially stabilized zirconia matrix can get fully tetragonal fine grained zirconia ceramic material after sintering process and save tetragonal phase in the room temperature to enhance of its characteristics in applications.
